A workshop that covers canine body language, how to prevent dog fights, and safe effective ways to break up dog fights if they start. This class will have a lecture portion and a hands-on portion.

Canine Body Language

Learning and understanding canine body language can help you understand how your dog and other dogs are feeling and help you prevent fights before they even start.

Specialized Equipment

We will cover equipment recommended to take with you to the dog park as well as any time your dog interacts with another dog. The equipment will be demonstrated and you will get a chance to practice with it so you feel comfortable using it in an emergency.

Effective Hands on Strategies

When all else fails, its important to know how to break up a dog fight safely and effectively. This involves a frank discussion of dogs fighting and may not be suitable for everyone.

Hi, I’m Jenna Huffman, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) and Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP) with over 15 years of hands-on experience helping dogs and their people thrive together. My background includes 5 years of dedicated work in the shelter world, where I specialized in behavior support and ran safe, enriching playgroups for a wide variety of dogs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of canine body language, social dynamics, and the importance of positive, science-based training. Whether I’m working with a new puppy, a rowdy adolescent, or a rescue dog finding their way, my goal is always to build trust, communication, and confidence—for both ends of the leash.
